Patient Referral

Referring to the Wessex Dental Specialist Centre

Patient referrals can be made to any of the dental specialists in the areas of Orthodontics, Endodontics, Periodontics, Surgical Dentistry, Prosthodontics (fixed and removable) and Implant and Cosmetic Dentistry.

In order to refer to us, either write a letter or fill out a referral form. We offer our dentists pads of referral forms, or you can download one. You can also download the referral form as a Word document. If you could provide any recent radiographs or study casts with your referral, these can be scanned and the originals returned to you. If you have digital images, these can be forwarded by email to .

We will then write to acknowledge receipt of your referral, and inform you of the treatment recommended once the initial consultation has been completed. As treatment progresses, you will be kept fully informed at all times, and if once treatment is complete, we will advise if ongoing maintenance is required.

Do remember that we welcome your attendance with your patient at any stage in the consultation or treatment procedure. We are happy to have an informal discussion with your patient before our initial consultation. Our consultation fees do not exceed £175.00. For this fee the patient receives:

• A full consultation
• An examination
• Radiographs Impressions for study casts/clinical photographs as appropriate
• a written report and treatment plan
• any further treatment plan discussion

If a second opinion is necessary as part of the treatment planning process, there is no additional charge made.
