Implant treatment is becoming an increasingly popular method of cosmetic dentistry and Implant company Astratech has identified that many general dentists are not fully aware of the complexity associated with this specialised sector, which often requires a multi-disciplined approach. The courses have been designed by Astratech following a recent Trading Standards report entitled ‘Training Standards in Implant Dentistry for General Dental Practitioners’, which highlighted a need for continued training in this sector. The programme will allow general dentists to increase their knowledge of implant treatments from the best specialists in the region.
Michael, Martin and Steve will be running training programmes and workshops for general dentists in the region to help them understand the complexities of implant cases and better diagnose implant patients.
Michael Thomas, Specialist in Prosthodontics at the Centre, commented, “We are delighted to have been asked to join the programme. Each Clinical Coach will be holding their own training sessions, and I very much looking forward to working with general dentists to ensure that patients throughout the County will be receiving the very best implant treatment and advice available.”
