New Endodontist Gets to the Root of Specialist Practice

Fareham-based Wessex Dental Specialist Centre is delighted to welcome on board their second Endodontist, Stanley Wilby-Lopez.

Stanley will be providing root canal treatment at the Centre on Fridays, in between running his own practice in Portsmouth and working at his twin brother’s practice in Warsash. Both twins graduated from Bristol University in 2000, and have moved down to the South coast to escape the hustle of London life, where they have been based since University.

Stanley went on to study a Masters in Endodontics at King’s College in London, and was awarded the Practitioner Prize from the British Endodontic Society in 2006.

Stanley originally thought about a career in engineering, after realising that he was very good with his hands, but finally settled with dentistry after becoming interested with the technical expertise involved, “I really enjoy getting right down to the foundations of the tooth, which is the basis for many dental problems. It is not an overly specialised area as it is very technically challenging, but I love the industry, and by working at the Centre I get the chance to see a wider variety of people in a different setting from my own practice.”

“Stanley is a great addition to the team,” comments Clinical Director Michael Thomas. “We are delighted to have him join our team and complement our existing Endodontist Ken Harper. His presence will allow us to offer more patients root canal treatment.”
