Dental Training Courses

The Centre offers a range of dental training courses for all members of the dental team from the Centre in Hampshire. Courses are run by members of The Wessex Dental Specialist team and also by outside agencies, and contribute to Continuing Professional Development standards. All courses meet the GDC criteria for continuing education, and certificates will be provided to add to your CPD portfolio.

Working Together

We recognise that the delivery of dental care relies on a team approach. Our dental training courses are therefore designed to allow an integrated level of care by offering training opportunities to individual dentists, dental nurses, hygienists, technicians, practice managers and receptionists in addition to courses that apply to all members of the team.

We invite you all to discuss with us any particular treatments that you have identified would require further development, so we as a dental training centre are constantly developing as well.

Dental training can be clearer when you have visual stimulus to aid learning. We have a live video and audio link from our teaching facility in-house at the Wessex Dental Specialist Centre to our surgical and restorative suites. For some dental training we will invite you to bring along your own patients for supervised dental treatment.

For dental courses involving patients, we shall require confirmation of registration, Hepatitis B certification and defence society subscriptions as appropriate.

We also run a number of study clubs from the training centre. These will be developed in addition to, and will complement the other dental training courses to foster a spirit of learning and discussion with similarly-minded colleagues.
